  3. Yoga is a Devotional Practice

  4. Yoga is a Reflection of You

  5. Yoga is Symbolic Language

How do we do this?

Yoga is Creative: Yoke the Power of the Mind to the Universal Flow

Trust the system and container of the practice. You are an Artist Creating with Breath. Use the breath to make the shape or the intention from the inside out. The feeling of the shape becomes the shape and the Mind will come to the body for service and devotion. You create together! Focus the eyes on one point in each asana and the mind & intentions becomes part of the creation and not separate from the creation.

As an Experiential System

Curiousity is the key. Curiousity is related to open-ness needed to wonder what if I change one variable what happens to my breath, my body. It is like turning your body into a laboratory! Not only to understand something new about how you are relating to yourself or external situations, but it feel the consequence of that relationship.

As a Devotional Practice

Surrender to the Universal Life Force of Breath. Breath leads all movement, a flowing, river of consciousness and vitality that reins or yokes the mind into service of the universal flow of breathing. The nautral rhythm of filling up and letting go, of nourishing to grow as an individual of separatness and dissolving into the boundry-less oneness. Allowing the mind to find comfort in the many and the one, the duality and one-ness of life.

As a Reflection of You

Look to your practice as a Mirror or a Dear Friend that shines back to you both your light and your dark. What comes easy and what is difficult often has a mental, emoptional or spiritual component to it. Seek to understand yourself rather than judge yourself. Hold hands with the mirror so that you may self integrate and accept all the piece of yoursef with love and courage to change your perspectives and stories you tell yourself.

As a Symbolic Language

There is an intelligence the speaks to you without words. It is a feeling, a sense, a knowing in the body or through the body as a symbolic understanding. Like the feet and the legs symbolically represent foundation, security, steadiness, trust. Why is that? See the similarities to the legs and how they support us, move us and provide for us, and therefore, know that if the legs are damaged or hurt or lacking strength than there may be a struggle living well with those aspects of life.
