This series is for anyone that would love to learn more about the foundations of our Modern Day Vinyasa Practices and what I think are some of the gifts and challenges of Ashtanga practice.  I consider Ashtanga Yoga a Foundation for all  Vinyasa Practices and therefore, is part of what I consider foundational to learning to build your personal practice.  Teaching students how to create a Personal Practice is what is near and dear to my heart and the focus of the study program I call "Building A Home For Spriit" 

An introductory course designed to give you a general background into the Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series, I am not a certified Ashtanga Yoga Teacher, but I have been practicing Ashtanga as part of my personal practice and studied with very respected teachers since the beginning of my journey in 2007. 

In this workshop I will share with you:

1. How Ashtanga Yoga has taught me

2. How it has influenced modern day Vinyasa Flow

3. What vinyasa means and how it is integral to Ashtanga

4. How Mysore is different than a led class

5. How to set up poses with and without props

6. How meditation is built into the asana practice.

The Primary Series is the first of 6 Ashtanga Series,

called Yoga Chikitsa, meaning Yoga Treatment or Therapy.

We will break the sequence down into 5 segments:

1.Background to Ashtanga & Sun Salutations

2.Standinng Sequence

3.1st Half of Primary Series

4.2nd Half of Primary Series

5.Closing Sequence
