About the event
In this course we are learning to re-orient our sense of Foundation which brings safety, support, and nourishment from our external sources to a connection to our body and our body to the Earth.Â
This course is for Anyone :
- Â wa
- nting to learn the A,B,C's of how to start creating a Personal Asana Practice that grows with you and becomes a sustainable part of you life.
- moving through changes that have disrupted your foundation; for example change of job, family, diet, community, friends, relationships.
- struggling with anxiety or autoimmune disease. Â
The Foundations of Asana Course is part of a series of courses, called Building a Home for Spirit, which gives students an understanding of the "How" to Build a Home  for your inner world as you grow physically, energetically, emotional, and spiritually. The Home is your Body and the body has a voice that communicates what it needs if we learn to understand the energetic lanuage.Â
What can you expect during the day?
- We will practice and discuss techniques that are used to show you how to set up your asana practice so that you know how to create a strong foundation whether you are on your feet or on another part of your body.
- We will learn to use props to support the building of a strong foundation
- We will learn what muscles need to be active to create strong foundation and the modern patterns that disrupt this foundation.
Why have the Building a Home for Spirit Courses been developed:
- We live in a modern, technological, mental, idealogical world. This means our attention is in our heads and off the ground much of our day. Â This brings with it anxiety, fear and feelings of disconnection. These courses rebalance the energetic disconnection by putting our attention back into our bodies, grounding us and giving us a sense of belonging and acceptance and safety in the world.Â
- Yoga has been taught for years in the USA as group exercise classes, but traditionally it was taught like any other educational or spiritual system from the bascis of foundations, like the ABC's before we learn worrds, before we read. Â These courses are to bring Yoga back to an education that gives people empowerment rather than as entertainment and escape from our "real" world. Education helps us live peacefully in the "real" world.Â
- We live in a consumeristic society, as a result, we have to spend deliberate time clearing what we take in, through out senses. Yoga is a clearing practice that allow us to withdrawn from our senses deliberately giving our minds, body, and energetic field time to digest and integrate what we are consuming. It is critical to staying well. The bodies systems to do not function on ingestion alone, Â they need processing, elimination, and integration time. Yoga gives us the awareness of and integrated masuline and feminine process of living.Â
What you will need to bring: Water bottle, yoga mat, comfortable clothes to move, snacks and/or money for lunch if you prefer to purchase something at the cafe next door, journal and pen.
